NMC is committed to providing an engaging and educational music experience for our visitors. While our in-house programming initiatives allow us to connect diverse communities to the breadth and depth of Canada’s music stories, we recognize that working with community partners adds additional vibrancy to our program offerings and enables us to further uplift and connect with organizations and individuals that share our mission and values. We therefore welcome opportunities for partnership and collaboration that help us achieve our mission of amplifying the love, sharing and understanding of music.
Backbeat
The primary program through which community partnership opportunities exist is Backbeat. NMC currently programs a diverse range of activities every weekend at Studio Bell. Included with admission to Studio Bell, the Backbeat activities includes live music performances from local musicians, bands, choirs, and community groups; new tours and family- friendly hands-on activities led by our talented interpreters; speaker series and panel discussions presented by local and regional music therapists and academics; workshops from visiting artists; and specialized tours that coincide with music milestones or new themes that rise from our exhibitions content. These programs generate more excitement and liveliness at Studio Bell, attracting more visitors and cultivating more champions of music.
